Tips & Hints

Tips for Mountain Hiking!

Have you planned everything? Read here and make your adventure go smoothly!

Choose the route according to your experience and your physical preparation: start with short distances first!

The more, the merrier: leaving alone for a hike can be risky, travel with at least one other person, the experience of a Trekking is better when shared with friends and family!

Program your Trekking in advance, check trails and paths on the maps, have a look online to find out more about your itinerary, ask somebody who already walked the same route.

If you really want to try the experience of a Trekking but don’t feel ready to do it on your own, just ask one of our Mountain Guides!

Don’t forget to check the weather forecast.

Prepare your backpack: have a look at our checklist to be sure to have packed all the equipment you may need during the Trekking!

Try to estimate an average journey-time of every route, considering the physical condition of each member of the group.

Inform the Hut owner or who is waiting for you at home about your time of arrival and the itinerary.

A plan B is always a good idea! Organize an alternative route in case of bad weather or unforeseen event: go back if it’s necessary, play it safe!

Keep your eyes open: while you’re walking, check each footpath number, but don’t forget to enjoy nature and its magic!

Don’t be in a hurry: on the most exposed trails, think carefully before overtaking other hikers and keep a certain distance from your companions, especially on the descent.

Tie well your trekking shoes or boots, pay attention to yourself first, then the others.

Respect our Mountains and the environment: the only thing left behind should be your footsteps, so bring your garbage downstream or use the waste bins.

Listen our Nature: enjoy its silence and all the little whispers, there’s no need to scream in such a huge space, you don’t want to frighten the wildlife of these parts – especially in the woods, do you?

No hurry: on exposed trails pay attention before attempting to pass other hikers, and keep always a minimum safe distance from them, especially during the descent.
